Abstract: Many studies have shown inconsistent results in term of the effect of caffeine intake during pregnancy on the risk of low birth weight (LBW). In this study, we performed a linear-dose response analysis and meta-analysis examining the association between caffeine consumption during pregnancy and risk of LBW among Saudi women. We found that high caffeine intake during pregnancy is associated with a significant increase in the risk of LBW among Saudi women, and this risk appears to increase linearly as caffeine intake increases.
