Phytochemicals: A promising immunomodulators against COVID-19 infection

Abstract
COVID-19, a disease induced by SARS-CoV-2 (Severe Acute Respiratory
Syndrome Coronavirus-2), has been the cause of a worldwide pandemic. In recent
days, extensive research works on the development of effective therapeutics
against this global health crisis have been reported, but there is still no
approved therapy against SARS-CoV-2. This pandemic situation is strongly
admiring the acceptance of immunomodulatory drugs as a part of routine diet as
well as a drug regimen in the management and treatment of pathogenic infectious
diseases. The present review draw attention to the potential traditional herbal
medicines which have been used since past few decades as ethno-medicine and
have scientifically of significantly report for boosting the human immune system.
This article might be a good source of information for the researchers and
practitioners working in the related field.
